Our Adoption Procedure

If you're interested in adopting a friend from The Ark of Hope, please understand that the pets that are here all have had trauma in their little lives and we want to be sure that their next home will be a forever home. So we ask that you fill out an application. Select either DOG ADOPTION APPLICATION or CAT ADOPTION APPLICATION below and either print and fill out the form or fill out the online form and submit. It is important that the pet is as happy with the adoption as the adoptive family!

1. Once you have found the pet of "your dreams," you will need to fill out one of our adoption applications. No animal will go to its new home that initial day. We don't want you to make a whim decision, we want you to go home and talk with the whole family about how much time will be needed to have a new pet, how much money will be needed as well as understanding this is a lifetime commitment! This placement must be right for you and the pet!
2. In the next day or two someone from the "Ark" will call you (or you can call the Ark) to find out if you are still considering adopting. When you and your family are sure that you can make a lifetime commitment to the animal - and your references come back good - someone from the Ark of Hope will bring the pet to your home.
3. If the home visit goes well and you and the pet are happy with the placement, then the adoption commitment papers can be signed!

CAT ADOPTION APPLICATION

The application information is requested so that we can assist you in the selection of a new cat. This form and consultation with The Ark of Hope's representative are designed to help you find the cat most compatible with your lifestyle. Please complete this form so that we may begin.

In order to be considered as an adopter you must:
** Be 21 years of age or older.
** Have identification showing your present address.
** Have the knowledge and consent of your landlord.
** Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide medical treatment and proper care for a pet.

Adoption Fees

The Ark of Hope Rescue does not have an adoption fee but we do ask that you search your heart and make a donation so that we can continue to help other animals get their second chance for happiness! We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, which means that your gift is tax-deductible.

Kuranda Dog Beds

Our dogs (and cats!) love to sleep on Kuranda dog beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for another dog or cat to sleep in comfort, please click here. Remember your donation is tax deductible!
