Sugar, Bounce and Bonnie

The three dogs on this page have lived three completely different lives.

Sugar was a rescue from a dog fighting ring. She was not used as a fighting dog but instead was a breeder dog. She just turned 2 years old and has already delivered 4 litters! She was found tied to a tree trying to protect and provide for her 9 puppies, 5 of which were already dead, when Southern Maryland Animal Shelter rescued her. With no room for her there, and they didn't want to put down such a sweet dog, somehow they got in touch with the Ark of Hope Rescue. We took her in and she melted our hearts. She was in really bad shape when she arrived but now she is in tip top shape waiting for the perfect family to adopt! Since Sugar has recuperated here at the Ark she has been spayed and is now up to date on her vaccinations. Although we were told that she is dog friendly, she does not trust too many dogs. We feel that she would be better if she was "THE" dog in her new family!

Bounce, on the other hand, didn't really have a terrible life; he just lived with people that really didn't have time in their busy lives for a puppy. He is a great little dog, he is beagle mix. He will convince you that you need his love!

Bonnie is a wonderful, lovable dog that would fit in any family's life. She is great with other animals. She does not like being cold, she would rather curl up on the sofa or on a bed and stay nice and warm with you. She loves to run and loves to play. She had a good life before coming to the Ark and we need to find her another one to mend her broken heart that she has for her family! Her mom and dad were both deployed at the same time. They are fighting for our freedom, we need to fight for Bonnie's!

"Sugar" (left) can sit pretty for a little while but she would rather be playing with you. She is very lovable. We believe that she knows that even her life at the rescue is 100,000,000 times better then what her life would have been living where she was, if she would not have been rescued. But she needs a real home with people that understand what a precious gem she is!

"Sugar' is not being rude - sticking her tongue out at you, she had a mouth full of peanut butter!

To the right is "Bounce." We named this little guy "Bounce" because he bounced from home to home. His first family had 4 very young children and the mother quickly found out that a puppy and a house full of babies was too much for her. Then a friend took him, this lady was a nurse who worked 10 to 12 hour shifts. You can't take care of a little puppy with that schedule. So "Bounce" came to the Ark. We are hoping that he will never bounce again, his next home will be for the rest of his adorable life!

"Bounce" is a lover boy. He is a beagle mix and is almost 1 year old. He plays with Thunder and Lightning -- they are his best friends! He is the only other dog that Lightning will allow to play with Thunder!

This is "Bonnie". Poor little Bonnie had a great life before coming to the Ark of Hope Rescue. She had a family that loved and cared for her but they were called to Iraq! No other family member could take her. She is a super great girl. Bonnie is a Greyhound mix and has just turned 2 years old. She plays wonderfully with other dogs, totally housebroken, likes to snuggle and is great with men, women and children! Bonnie has been spayed and is current on her vaccinations. We need to get her out of the rescue! She was never abused or neglected only loved! Since her family was called to Iraq for us to be safe here in the United States, let's do something special for them and find Bonnie another wonderful home so that when they are in harm's way, they won't be worrying about Bonnie! Let's give them the peace that they are working on giving us! She will Bless any family with love!!!
