Happy Endings #3

This little guy is Brandy, we have been calling him Brandy and Brandon because so many people think that Brandy is a female (because of the name). We started calling him Brandon (it sounds like Brandy) and now no one mistakes Brandon for the wonderful male dog that he is! His owner was an elderly woman that was killed in a car accident. So he is an orphan :( He would make a wonderful pet, he is a "house dog" that likes other dogs as well as cats! He was use to sleeping in bed with his owner, he is tired of sleeping on the floor at the rescue, he wants a warm, loving home of his own again! Would you let Brandon adopt you? Brandon is a Welsh Corgi / Sheltie mix. He is completely house broken, up to date on his vaccinations and of course neutered and very sweet. At 4 years old he's at a nice age that will adjust easily to a new home. If you're not able to take Brandon into your home, maybe you know someone else that needs him as bad as he needs them...can you help?

Hooray! Brandon has a new home! Saturday, November 18th, Brandon was adopted and now will be living a wonderful life in Cockeysville, MD. He will be sharing a home with his new mom and his new 17 year old brother. Congratulations Brandon and Brenda!!!

Sadie's story is pretty sad...Her first owner gave her to a couple in West Virginia, who after about 1 year got in trouble with the law and is now in jail...This persons mother had Sadie, which she did not want so she drove to Oldtown, MD, went deep into the woods and "dumped" her out of her car and then drove away, leaving Sadie all alone in the woods! Sadie soon found an old car in a field and dug a hole under it to get out of the weather. The man who owned the car called Ark of Hope, and we went and picked up this poor frightened dog. We found out the above information after a whole day a tracking down different people starting from an old WV dog tag that was left on her when she was dumped! The last person that we talked to was "the mother who dumped her off." We found out that this sweet dog's name is Sadie, she is 2 years old and has been spayed. She does have an old injury on her back left leg that does make her limp occasionally, usually after a lot of use, but an aspirin seems to do the trick! She is great with people -- adults and children, gets along fine with other dogs except my German Shepherd, Angel, whom she really does not like. Sadie is a wonderful, young, playful dog who needs a family that will commit to making her a life long home!

UPDATE: Sadie has been adopted!!! Heidi from Frostburg, seen above right with Sadie, adopted her on Saturday, Nov. 4. After nearly 2 years of being pushed from one person to another she now has a family who wants her. Finally Sadie has a great loving home for the rest of her life...Yeah for Sadie and Heidi!

Hi, my name is Dempsey! I was rescued after wandering around lost for two weeks. I was cold, hungry, chewed up because other dogs were mean to me (they bit off a piece of my right ear), to make matters worse I was hit by a car or truck and broke my shoulder. All my joints are sore and hurt from being malnourished. But I was taken to Ark of Hope Rescue on November 13th. Dianne took me to Dr. Fox who examined me, gave Dianne medicine for my pain and pills to get rid of the worms that I had. Now I am up to date on my vaccinations. Dianne took me back to the Ark and made me a nice, warm bed, gave me my first real dinner in weeks, and my first pain pill that made me feel so much better.

When I woke up, my first day at the ARK, I went outside to go potty and when I came back in, my breakfast was waiting for me. It had a pain pill and a vitamin in it to make me strong and healthy. The vet said that my shoulder is going to be fine real soon. I will be as good as new! He said that puppies bounce back fast - I am only 8 months old. On December 5th Dianne told me that I will be going back to see Dr. Fox, something about neutering -- I don't know... I really need a family to take care of and love me so that I can be a happy puppy once again. I go potty outside, I am real sweet and gentle. I just want somebody to play with me with my new purple toy. Do you know anyone that would be nice to me? I promise to be a good boy. I told Santa that I want a family for Christmas.

UPDATE: Dempsey has been adopted!!! Yeah!!! He now has a family, a Mom and Dad, a 9 year old girl and a 4 year old boy to love him! We are so happy for the O'Neil's and for Dempsey!

This is "Sweetie". She was one of the females that were part of the "Mutt-ly Crew". She lived the first few months of her life eating out of trash cans to survive.

UPDATE: "Sweetie" has been adopted! Now she has a family that will love her till the end of time. She'll have all the dog food she needs now.

(right) Sweetie and her new mom and dad. Don't they make a great family?!!
